Larks snatch a point off Robins

A spirited late comeback saw the Larks salvage a point from a game that up till then looked settled in the visitors’ favour. Initially the home side had the better of things. Harvey Pritchard was unlucky to be flagged offside when through on goal, and Max Williams’ weak shot was easily gathered by Robins’ keeper Archie Burford. Sam Boulton then had to put in the first of a series of impressive tackles to deny Levi Steele. The two keepers had a fair bit to do for the rest of the half which Evesham probably shaded.

The Robins definitely dominated the majority of the second period and despite an excellent save from Arthur Nasta they did take the lead thanks to a Charlie Wise header off a throw into the box. Conceding a goal energised the Larks, as did the introduction of Alex Lambert and Archie Ferris up front. We won a couple of corners in quick succession and the second of these led to the equaliser. Evesham only half cleared the ball, Jack Camm retained it and supplied Lammy, who crossed for Archie who headed in from very close range. The final stages of the game were all about the Larks breathlessly striving to score a winner. Lammy came closest to doing so in the dying seconds of the game only to be denied by a superb save from Burford.
