Larks turn it around

The Larks booked their place in the Third Round Qualifying of the FA Trophy with a dogged display against fellow Southern Leaguers Hamworthy United.

After a spell of dominance it was the Larks who conceded first. Shortly after Archie Ferris had come close to scoring not once but twice, the home side broke away down the left and full back Jack Tornaianen blasted home from close range. It remained 1-0 at half time.

The second half was more balanced in terms of possession but this time the Larks made their chances count. Some good play from midfield, which was being bossed by Dale Evans, gave Alex Lambert the opportunity to surge ahead. The impressive Hamworthy keeper Kai Storr came out of his goal but Lammy held his nerve and launched a low drive past him to equalise.

Ten minutes later we doubled our lead. Archie had been replaced by Dawid Regula and super sub lived up to his name. He collected an excellent cross from Lammy and levelled a fierce strike which Storr could do nothing to stop. The Larks held on for the remaining 15 minutes for a deserved victory which sees us through to the next round.

Larks MoM was Dale Evans.

The draw will be released later today. Watch this space!
