Larkhall Athletic Season Wrap-Up: Building Towards the Future

As another thrilling football season draws to a close, we bid a short farewell to our loyal fans with a mixture of pride, gratitude, and excitement for the future. While the prize of a play-off spot may have eluded us this time, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

In a heartfelt message to supporters, first team manager Ollie Price expressed his profound pride in the team’s efforts: “Although we didn’t manage to get over the line, I’m immensely proud of my team and the football club, with how far we’ve come. We have a team and a club that is heading in the right direction with a sustainable future. Already I can’t wait for next season to see what we can achieve.”

This season has been one of milestones and memorable moments. The Larks achieved their highest average home league attendance ever, with an average of 192 passionate fans filling the stands game after game, providing unwavering support to the team. Moreover, our historic clash against Bath City in the FA Cup witnessed a record-breaking attendance of 1,000 spectators, further showcasing the growing enthusiasm for Larkhall Athletic. Larks soared into a two-goal lead, only to be hit by a strong second half display and lose the game 3-2 to their local rivals from two divisions above.

The journey didn’t end with league fixtures and a superb chase for the play-offs (which we narrowly missed out on via goal difference); our exhilarating cup runs added another layer of excitement. As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming semi-finals against Taunton Town in the Somerset Premier Cup, the dream of cup glory remains alive and within reach.

Looking ahead, the anticipation for the next season is palpable. Larkhall Athletic are going toe-to-toe in the highest tier of the football pyramid they’ve ever played in. With the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G pitch and the construction of a new stand this summer, the infrastructure of the club is undergoing a significant upgrade. These developments signify not only a commitment to excellence in the community, but also a testament to the club’s ambition and determination to succeed across all pathways – from Under 7 girls and boys, to the development and first teams.

As we reflect on the highs and lows of the season, one thing is clear: Larkhall Athletic is a club on the rise. With a dedicated team, passionate fans, and a vision for the future, the journey ahead is filled with promise and excitement. Up the Larks!
