Captain Sam Boulton Reflects on Larkhall Athletic’s Progress and Ambitions for 2025
As the new year begins, Larkhall Athletic captain Sam Boulton has shared his thoughts on the team’s journey, challenges, and hopes for the future.
“We’ve been lucky enough to retain many familiar faces from our 2023-24 campaign into 2024-25, alongside bringing in fresh faces and new talents,” Boulton said. “From the ground up, management has built a dressing room full of honest and hardworking players, which is a pleasure to be a part of.”
Reflecting on the season so far, Boulton acknowledged the adjustments the team has had to make. “Our journey hasn’t been without challenges, particularly with changes to our home surface and, with it, our playing style. However, with the efforts we’ve put in on the training ground and in our spare time, along with the trust we have in one another and in our system, I can only see results improving in 2025—and with them, our league standing.”
Boulton also took the opportunity to thank the fans and volunteers who have supported the club. “Firstly, thank you to all the fans and volunteers who bring their support not just to us on the pitch but to the club itself,” he said. “You’ve helped enable the club to expand and build on previous years, which is more evident than ever this season.”
Looking ahead, the captain expressed excitement about Larkhall’s progress. “The new ground is just one example of the club’s aspirations to grow and continuously improve. Larkhall is an exciting club to be a part of for anyone associated, especially as a player.”
He ended with a heartfelt message for the new year: “Happy New Year to you all. We hope to see you at Plain Ham this Saturday for your continued support. Up the Larks 💙.”
