Ollie Price – Manager Spotlight!

Ollie Price, the First Team Manager and a Larkhall veteran, gives his perspective on the club, his journey, and the aspirations he holds for the team.

As a true Larkhall stalwart, Ollie expressed his immense pride in being part of the club. Having made countless appearances for Larks as a player and captaining the side, Ollie now feels a great honour in leading Larkhall Athletic as its First Team Manager. Ollie shared, “To be associated with this club fills me with a huge sense of pride. To have played and captained the club, it is now a great honour for me to be leading the club as manager.”

Ollie highlighted Larkhall Athletic’s stunning setting here at Plain Ham, and the team spirit on and off the pitch, as two big things that define Larkhall. He remarked, “The club is very unique, and there isn’t any other club quite like it. To have such a picturesque setting for a home ground is very unique in itself, together with everyone that is associated with the club. It truly is an “all in it together” mentality. The phrase ‘Once a Lark, always a Lark’ couldn’t be any truer!”

Setting ambitious goals for the team, Ollie outlined the priorities, stating, “Firstly, to maintain our Southern League status. Then, the priority would be to improve on our position last season. Also, we want to create an environment where everyone wants to be, and an environment that everyone enjoys being part of.”

Balancing his role as a Water Purification Engineer with his passion for football, Ollie enjoys spending quality time with his family and watching or playing various sports, particularly football or cricket. His spare time is devoted to supporting his children in their athletic pursuits.

Highlighting his role models, Ollie pointed to his parents as significant influences in his life. “My two biggest role models or idols would be my mum and dad. They have had a huge impact on my journey and have always supported me and given me the opportunities to succeed in life.” Additionally, David Beckham holds a special place in Ollie’s heart, with Ollie being inspired by the iconic figure and the Class of ’92, which Ollie describes as “nothing short of inspirational”.

When it comes to the team dynamics, Ollie would have seen a lot over his playing years, with stints at Exeter City, Clevedon Town, Mangotsfield United, Chippenham Town, Paulton Rovers, Yate Town, and, of course, Larkhall Athletic.

There’s definitely a unique dynamic to the current crop we have here at Larkhall though! Ollie humorously identified Archie Ferris as the joker in the squad, stating, “Jack Camm would be up there, but I think it has to be Archie Ferris. He’s always got a big grin on his face and in the mix when something is going off. He always seems like he’s up to no good.”

Concluding with gratitude for the fans, Ollie expressed, “Thank you for always supporting me and the lads in the amazing way you all do, it really is appreciated. Up the Larks!”

Ollie Price, a leader and a symbol of Larkhall pride, embodies the spirit of the club both on and off the pitch.
