Match Preview: Willand Rovers Vs Larks, Saturday 7th February
Larks are back on the road this weekend, with a trip to Willand Rovers on the cards as Durbs’ team look to get back to winning ways!
Last Time Out
In our last game, Larkhall welcomed Oxfordshire side Didcot Town to the Camella Stadium in what turned out to be an even affair.
Freddie King netted in the 11th minute to put Larks into an early lead. However, Didcot managed to find a breakthrough in the 85th minute as Tyger-J Hall levelled the game, with both teams walking away with a point.
The Opposition
Rovers were founded in 1907 under the name Willand Wanderers. However, in 1946 the club folded due to financial issues following the Second World War. They restarted as Willand Rovers shortly afterwards.
Willand Rovers currently find themselves in the bottom four of the Southern League Division One South and play their football out of Silver Street.
Previous Meeting
The last meeting between the two sides was a level contest, in which the score ended 2-2. The opposition scored two in four minutes before being pegged back with Matt Bowman and James Horrocks tying up the match.
One To Watch
We have picked out Charlie Thomas-Bateson as the opposition player to watch out for. He has scored two in his last three appearances.
