Larks triumph in the FA Trophy

An emphatic display of attacking football saw the Larks through to the next round of the Trophy. The Larks set the tempo early on, bombarding the Mousehole goal almost from kick off. Dawid Regula and Harvey Pritchard formed a strong front line for the home side and created chances from the off. Mousehole were struggling to get the ball out of their half and it looked only a matter of time before they conceded. Eben Mortimer-Taylor launched a strike from close range which Chernoweth did well to stop. But a goal was coming and as the Larks surged forward they won another corner, taken by Max Williams. Midfielder Matt Bowman was the first to react, heading home decisively on 20 minutes. Regula nearly doubled the lead with a thumping effort that Chernoweth managed to tip over the bar. The first half ended with Mousehole getting close to an equaliser only for Arthur Nasta to pull off a superb double save to deny them.

Victory was sealed when the tireless Pritchard picked up a pinpoint pass from Regula and slotted the ball past Chernoweth. Shortly afterwards the dynamic was reversed as Pritchard squared the ball for Regula whose tame shot was easily saved. The best chance for the visitors came on the 70th minute when Josh Bissett broke through from midfield and got the ball in the net only to be flagged offside. Mousehole continued to press and won a free kick on the edge of the Larks’ area but Nasta was alert to the danger and got down well. Bissett had another go in the dying moments of the game but again Nasta was equal to the challenge.
