Jake Hicks signs for Weston Super Mare + stays at Larks on loan!

Larkhall Athletic’s talented young midfielder Jake Hicks has earned a move to Weston Super Mare, stepping up to National League South football. But in great news for the Larks, Jake will remain with the club for the rest of the season as part of a loan-back deal.

Manager Ollie Price was full of praise for the 18-year-old’s development:

“I’d like to congratulate Jake on earning a contract with Weston. Throughout his time with us, he’s been a pleasure to work with. He always gives his best, and his attitude towards the game is exceptional.”

Jake has performed well for Larks this season, proving himself to be a strong tackler in the middle, as well as bagging some fantastic goals.

“If he continues to apply himself in the right way, he will no doubt go on to have a successful career. We wish him well but are glad to get him back on loan until the end of the season, where we all still have some unfinished business,” said Ollie.

Jake himself is excited for the opportunity ahead but remains committed to finishing the season strongly with Larkhall:

“It is a great feeling to sign for Weston. I have heard nothing but good things about the way they do things and the ambitions they have. I have played men’s football since I was 16, but my time at Larkhall has been especially good for my development, as I have been able to fully commit to it. The gaffer has a proven record of developing young players, and his team have been really helpful in improving me not only as a player but as an individual.”

The Larks have a challenge ahead of them this weekend, as they face fellow bottom club Cinderford Town in a relegation dog fight – they’ll be pleased to have Jake Hicks in the squad for this six pointer.

“Everyone connected with the Larks has been so supportive throughout the whole season, and we will give everything we can to finish the season as strong as possible,” said Jake.

A huge congratulations to Jake on his well-earned move—we look forward to seeing him continue to shine in both Larks and Weston colours!

Up the Larks!
