Are you ready?

Saturday is nearly here again and we are looking forward to welcoming Cirencester Town (The Centurions) to Plain Ham for the Southern League Division One South encounter, KO 3.00pm. We played them away just a couple of months back on 11 Jan, the game ending in a 1-1 draw with Jack Pearson-Brown scoring a late equaliser for the Larks on his debut. So, last week it was the top of the Division and this week it’s the second in the table. We can expect that Cirencester will be pressing hard for that automatic promotion spot today and for the rest of the season.

On Tuesday we had a disappointing result at Cinderford, the Larks losing 1-0 to a very late goal after a somewhat lacklustre performance. Tom Warren started his first game of the season at right back in the absence of Joe Hillard, but moved to centre-back alongside Dan Restorick before the first half was over. Tom settled in quickly and was imposing himself on the game right to the end. I bet he was tired on Wednesday morning!! He replaced Josh Jones who was hampered by a very sore hip injury and was forced to leave the field following a couple of clearances of high bouncing balls that really seemed to ratchet up the pain. Let’s hope that he is able to recover for tomorrow.

Tomorrow we can look forward to the full opening of the Snack Shack following a trial run last Saturday. A full range of food and hot and cold drinks will be available this week with Emily taking the lead behind the counter. Make sure you are one of the first to sample and enjoy what’s on offer.
