Six Goal Thriller @Plain Ham

On a bright sunny afternoon at the beautiful Larkhall Athletic Plain Ham, Securitas stadium, the scene was set for an exhilarating six goal thriller against an improving Cinderford Town.

Lewis Powell got the ball rolling on the 11th minute to give the Larks the lead.

Cinderford’s Ben Brooks scored an equalizer on the 18 minute, followed by Zach Drew on the 37 minute to give Cinderford the lead.

Just before half time Sam Crumb pinched a well deserved equaliser on 43 minutes.

Ten minutes after the restart, Harry Emmett put Cinderford back in front.

A questionable second yellow card for Alfie Clarke saw Larkhall Athletic reduced to 10. This seemed to spur the home side on.

The momentum firmly with Larkhall Athletic, a second foul on Dan Demkiv inside the area resulted in a late penalty for Lewis Powell who converted with his usual confidence to restore parity.

@ 90+5 minutes the Larks won a corner. Lewis Powell broke free of his marker to connect with a solid header steered accurately to the lower right corner of the goal only to be tipped on to the post by the heroics of the Cinderford keeper Nicholas Jones to prevent what looked like an inevitable winner.

What a fantastic game of football for all the fans and could have ended 6-6.

Honours even and a fair result.
