It is with great pleasure that Larkhall Athletic Football Club can announce the re-signing of our multiple golden boot winner and last season’s top goal scorer, Lewis Powell.
Our first team manager Phil Bater announced the signing, saying “I’m delighted to have Lew back, I don’t think that he ever wanted to leave the club. It’s been a bit of a tough time for him during the COVID 19 crisis, on top of that he has a young daughter, and is also moving house. His work has been on lock down as well, so lots going on more important than football. The bottom line is we are a better team with him than without him. He has had lots of better offers but chose to come back to us which speaks volumes for our club”.
On hearing the announcement, long time supporter Anthony Waterhouse said ‘I’m delighted to have Lewis, our proven goal-scorer, back at the Larks for another season. He has a great first touch and powerful shot that would have most certainly been missed. Glad to have you back’.
Lewis needs no introduction to the Southern League. A proven goal-scorer, after starting his career at Bristol Rovers, he also played for Mangotsfield Utd, Taunton Town, Chippenham Town, Weston-super-Mare, and Evesham United and scored on his Larks debut.
Welcome back to the Larkhall family.
