On a fine spring like afternoon at the fabulous Plainham sports arena of footballing excellence, the long anticipated fixture against promotion contenders Evesham was on.
The sun was out and there was a sense of optimism and confidence surrounding the Larkhall faithfull and the players alike.
The game started as you would expect a game of this caliber to begin with both sides showing signs of footballing prowess.
Despite Harry’s dominance down the right flank there was nothing he could do to convert the early chances made from long penetrating runs and a number of attempts on goal that were met by a confident Evesham keeper who seemed to have the game under control.
It wasn’t until late into the second half that Evesham were able to break the deadlock from a fast head height corner, which flew into what looked like a group of Evesham whirling dervishes, spinning their way into our goal.
The first half concluded Larkhall 0 – 1 Evesham
The second half was equally as entertaining as the first however with no goals.
All in all a very sporting game with two very respectful sides playing good quality football. Despite the lack of goals the game was entertaining and the larks were unlucky not to score an equalizer.
Larkhall Man of the Match:
Harry Hope for his penetrating runs and attempts on goal.
